Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) technology, in terms of non-invasive high-resolution imaging, has become a key tool for diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring of optic nerve myelitis (NMOSD) in neuro-ophthalmology. This review focuses on the use of OCTA in revealing retinal microvascular changes and its application in the management of NMOSD, which can form a good interplay with conventional imaging. Despite the challenges of technical limitations and complexity of data parsing, OCTA provides information on the dynamics of retinal blood flow, which provides a scientific basis for the development of personalised treatment plans. With technological advances, OCTA is expected to play an even more important role in neuro-ophthalmology in the future, and this article highlights the need and potential value of further exploring its application in NMOSD. |
