Microglia are very important immune cells, which are widely distributed in the central nervous system, and can continuously observe and perceive the surrounding microenvironment, on the one hand, by releasing various cellular inflammatory factors to balance the body's immune response, and on the other hand, by phagocytosis synapses and cells to regulate neural network functions. Microglial dysfunction is a major mechanism involved in the onset or exacerbation of neurodegenerative diseases, so restoring microglial function may be a potential therapeutic modality. CD22 is an important member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-type lectin family, which is usually expressed on the surface of B cells and plays an immunosuppressive role. Recently, CD22 has been shown to improve cognitive function in elderly mice through microglia, which is expected to make CD22 a new target for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. |
